In early October, when the weather was wonderful everywhere, MaxiMICE team visited two beautiful sites in St. Petersburg in order to inspect them. We certainly have worked with them before, so with the Courtyard Marriott St Petersburg Vasilievsky since 2009, and with the Renaissance St Petersburg Baltic Hotel even longer, but it is always important to keep abreast of developments and positive changes. We have personally inspected all rooms and room types at both sites, and enjoyed culinary delights in the Courtyard Marriott cooked by the senior chef. And, of course, it was nice to talk to colleagues “face-to-face”. Kirill Shmelev was responsible for our inspection activities, and Jacob Adamov shared some personal impression of the work in St. Petersburg.
What is particularly important to understand is the seasonal factor. As explained by Jacob, many corporate clients have already booked their rooms for summer 2017 in early autumn, which was not observed earlier. The expectation of the Confederation Cup a scale football event leads to an important shift. The Confederation Cup takes place on the eve of the World Cup in the host country. At the same time seasonality has a downside – the organization of events in St. Petersburg during the “bad weather” has a very positive effect on the budget optimization. And when you consider that most part of the trip, as a rule, is dedicated to the conference part conducted indoors, such a choice may be more than justified.
It is necessary to consider the figures in detail. Courtyard Marriott St Petersburg Vasilievsky offers its guests 214 rooms, a wide range of conference packages and dining options, including designer’s coffee breaks, as well as 8 halls of various capacity (theater seating – from 22 to 170 / banquet seating – 120). The Renaissance St Petersburg Baltic Hotel offers 102 rooms, a variety of meals and conference capabilities, and 7 meeting rooms (theater/ banquet- from 25 to 200). Both sites offer interesting options for discount under certain conditions (for example, for groups from the N number of participants during the event or during the weekend).
The rich cultural and architectural heritage of the city, the hotel’s proximity to key sightseeing attractions, the comfort and luxury of the historical buildings in which they are located, as well as specially designed menus for corporate groups, of which we can talk endlessly!
With what do you associate the city? One of the most common answer is, of course, will be – “drawbridges”. The best views of this phenomenon are waiting for you if you stay at Courtyard Marriott St Petersburg Vasilievsky, however, you should not be afraid of being late to your hotel: in summer the new metro station “Sportivnaya” operates in the special mode (from Vasilyevsky Island to the city center it has only 1 stop). And in November of this year, it will be opened a section of the Western High-Speed Diameter, so the traffic in the island will be in the “24h. / 7d. / 365 d/y” mode. Vasilevsky Island in general is very interesting for walking trips, for example, the oldest stone building of the city is Menshikov Palace, situated exactly thereon.
A Renaissance St Petersburg Baltic Hotel, located in an old mansion in close proximity to: the Hermitage, Admiralty, Mariinsky Theatre and the Yusupov Palace, some rooms and conference rooms’ windows are looked out on the majestic St. Isaac’s Cathedral. Colleagues, admitted that they had to change the way of seating in the hall, as the group could not break away from the incredible beauty and focus on the goals of their business programs.
